He added: The construction and operation of this railway section will open a new chapter in the international North-South transportation corridor. In such a way that all players in the field of transport, logistics and regional and global supply chain of the member countries of this corridor and other countries from East and Southeast Asia to the southern countries of the Oman Sea and the Persian Gulf, as well as the Caucasus region, Russia and Europe, from They will benefit from the numerous advantages of this route in terms of security, safety, time and cost of transportation.

Transportation from the Persian Gulf to Russian ports by rail and sea

Effendizadeh emphasized: In the next few months and after the completion of the final stages of the executive operation, the 37 km long railway line from Rasht to Caspian in the north of Iran and the shore of the Caspian Sea will be completed and put into operation. He clarified: The connection of Bushehr port in the Persian Gulf to the country’s rail network, as another strategic project with a length of 450 kilometers, which plays an important role in the North-South corridor, has been funded and its implementation is underway. If this project is completed, a new and desirable option will be provided in the North-South Corridor rail transportation, from Bushehr Port to the Caspian Sea and the northwest of the country.

A new connection to the Turkish railway network from Cheshma Soraya

Effendizadeh said: Currently, the railway network of the Islamic Republic of Iran is connected to the neighboring countries of Pakistan and Afghanistan in the east.
